One of the Earliest and Finest, what we, as the Gibsonville Folk Mafia call… A “Benny Carter Small”… not a miniature but a “small” at just over 5″.  This is from his MASTERPIECE PERIOD (1996 – 1997).   One of the finest examples ever offered to the public.  Take special note of the oil-based house paint and the No Hair statue of liberty.  This helps us date this piece despite the fact that it is dated on the back 1996.  Also take special note that this is in his “hoarder phase” where he let no room on the canvas for brush strokes filling the entire platform up with tiny matriculas strokes.
